A JOURNEY TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY

Every Mazda we create is designed around you, the driver. We extend this philosophy across all aspects of what we do, including how we build more sustainable, cleaner cars. Because all of you are different, we work tirelessly on practical ways to make mobility cleaner for all your different needs.

2030

By 2030, Mazda assumes that a quarter of its products globally will be fully electric and all other models will be electrified in some form.

2050

By 2050, Mazda will be carbon neutral in all areas, including product, technology, manufacturing and sales.

RESPONSIBILITY, SAFETY AND DRIVING PLEASURE

Our greatest challenge lies in reducing CO2 emissions throughout a vehicle’s life cycle, to curb global warming and preserve this beautiful earth for future generations. In doing so we aim to enhance mental well-being and contribute to society, with cars that offer true driving pleasure, responsibly and safely, giving unrestricted mobility to people everywhere.

TECHNOLOGY FOR A BRIGHTER TOMORROW

Inspired by our challenger spirit, Mazda has always been at the forefront of automotive innovation and technology. Today, we’re applying that same spirit to find ever-new ways to increase sustainability, through electrification, cleaner fuels and energy efficiency.

ELECTRIFICATION

We believe the electrification of cars will play a major role in reducing emissions in the coming decades. As electricity from renewable energy increases, electric vehicles become even more environmentally friendly. Countries where there is a higher proportion of electricity generated by renewable sources well-suited to the uptake of fully electric and hybrid vehicles.

CLEANER FUELS

Where electrification of fleets will take longer, and for cars already on the road, we consider carbon neutral fuels essential in accelerating the transition to clean mobility. These clean fuels can be blended with conventional fuels, making the transition very smooth for drivers. Over time, they will fully substitute fossil fuels and help us achieve carbon neutral mobility, for all.

GREATER ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Along with electrification and cleaner fuels, our engineers continue to explore ways to improve the energy efficiency of all of our cars, including through our proven e-SKYACTIV X technology. This increased engine efficiency benefits both the driver and the environment, for all cars with an internal combustion engine including hybrid cars.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

Sustainability is not just about reducing emissions. It is about reducing the overall environmental impact of cars through the way they are made, driven and very importantly – what they are made of. By using sustainable materials we are able to reduce the impact of our vehicles at every stage of their life cycle.

BIO-PLASTICS
